SCTE Training Franchise details.

The society supplies a series of training courses for technicians in the telecommunications industry.

The recently updated course portfolio now includes, Installation Technician, Service Technician, Network Technician, Network Architecture and Design, Fibre Optic Transmission for Technicians and Business Data Solutions. Two instructor-led courses, 'An Introduction to Broadband' and 'Co-Axial RF Networks design for Technicians' are also available.

The SCTE training courses are the most complete and up-to-date courses available to the Broadband Industry. The courses were produced by industry professionals with considerable practical and theoretical experience.

Thanks to the comprehensive course manuals, these courses are suitable for classroom delivery or individual study. The course documentation is available as A4 handbooks in printed form or as online page-turning documents.

Online exams are used to assess the student and award accreditation certificates to successful candidates.

The Society is basically offering a very simple franchising model for these courses. The core syllabus, examinations and certification are controlled by the SCTE to ensure that the course accreditation is maintained at all times.

The model for the franchise holder  

The courses are supplied to the franchise holder at the SCTE member rate - each includes either online manuals or hard copy manuals and online examination and certification.

The franchise holder may sell the courses as stand-alone, distance learning courses. Additional charges may be made for providing hands-on training. The franchise holder sets the price charged to the student as this is essentially a market-driven price for the holder of the franchise to determine.
